Managing Aging Plants Japan 2018

Managing Aging Plants Japan 2018 – Spring 2018, Tokyo, Japan

Following the success of the first bilingual Managing Aging Plants Conference & Expo held in Tokyo, Japan in 2016, the second event on the topic of Managing Aging Plants will again be held in Tokyo the spring of 2018. As in 2016 the conference will be presented in both Japanese and English simultaneously. A large majority of the lectures will be given by invited speakers who are authorities in their particular field. They will address Managing Aging Plants from the perspectives of operators working in Japan, Europe and America; regulatory bodies; engineers; and insurers.

Mr Masao Nakahara (Asahi Kasei Corp.), steering committee member for MAP Japan 2016 and again for MAP Japan 2018, spoke to us briefly after the recent MAP Europe event promising highly focused topics for the upcoming 2018 event.

Other themes will include workshops on risk assessment; monitoring, inspection, and testing; as well as the latest trends in the Internet of Things and Smart Plants; and the latest maintenance technologies – welding, Thermal Spray, and Fitness of Service. Additionally, there will be a workshop where leading industrial experts put forward some interesting practical case studies – challenges that they came across in their everyday working lives and the solutions they found to solve them. There will also be lectures looking at the application of the latest valve maintenance technologies, and assessing the possibilities and advantages offered by the use of 3D Printing technologies to solve pertinent industrial challenges in plants.

Mr Henk Akkermans (World Class Maintenance) praises MAP Japan 2016 and is looking forward to learn from the Japanese and share European knowledge again at MAP Japan 2018.

The conference will be led by an experienced and knowledgeable Steering Committee composed of:

  • Kiyotaka Arimatsu, KITZ Corporation
